What are DBS checks?
A DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service check) is a criminal record check used in the UK to help employers make safer recruitment decisions.

🔎 Types of DBS Checks
There are four levels of DBS checks, depending on the level of risk associated with the job:

4️⃣ Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists Check
✅ Includes everything in the Enhanced Check plus:
✔️ A check against the children’s or adults’ barred list, which identifies individuals banned from working with vulnerable groups.
✅ Mandatory for regulated roles (e.g., childminders, social workers).

⏳ How Long Does a DBS Check Take?

- Standard & Enhanced Checks – Up to 14 days (can take longer if additional checks are needed).
